His soccer ball has come from someone's trash. Then Luke makes friends with a new student, Amelia, who was a soccer player in her former neighborhood. She is eager to gather a team of girls to help him meet his challenge. With this encouragement, he develops self-esteem in spite of adversity and a sense of humor as well. In her first novel, Little has created a fully realized character.
